High season: December to Carnival
Rio's peak runs from the December holidays through New Year on Copacabana beach and on to Carnival in February or early March. The city is at its fullest, hotels are dearest, and the Roxy's weekend dinner tables go early. If you're visiting then, book the show as soon as your dates are fixed — it's the kind of night that disappears in the week you want it.
The comfortable months
Rio's autumn and winter, roughly April to September, bring milder temperatures, less rain and thinner crowds, with a smaller peak in July for Brazilian school holidays. It's the easiest time to get a dinner table at short notice, and a cooler evening makes the walk along the promenade before the show more pleasant. Spring, from September to November, is a good balance of weather and availability.
Weekends fill first
